Graduation Requirements for Current Chicago Simeon Students
Through Chicago Public Schools current Simeon students are required to have at least 26 credits. Since we are a career academy we have an additional number of credits that our students must take. Below you can find the number of credits and what requirements are to be passed to become a graduate of Simeon Career Academy.
English: 4 years
Freshman Year: Survey Literature (Honors or Regular)
Sophomore Year: American Literature (Honors or Regular)
Junior Year: British Literature (Honors or Regular) AP English Literature & Composition
Senior Year: World Literature (Honors or Regular) AP English Language & Composition
Mathematics: 3 years
Freshman Year: Algebra (Honors or Regular)
Sophomore Year: Geometry (Honors or Regular)
Junior Year: Advanced Algebra w/ Trigonometry (Honors or Regular)
Senior Year: Pre-Calculus (Elective)
Science: 3 years
Freshman Year: Biology (Honors or Regular) AP Biology
Sophomore Year: Environmental Science/Chemistry/Physics Junior Year: Environmental Science/Chemistry/Physics
Senior Year: Environmental Science/Chemistry/Physics (Elective)
Social Studies: 3 years
Freshman Year: World Studies (Honors or Regular)
Sophomore Year: US History (Honors or Regular) *Public Law Test - Non-Credit Requirement

*Both of these classes are requirements for graduation. If a student fails either one of these they will have to take it over.
