Welcome Simeon & Westcott Alumni

Greetings from the Simeon Alumni Association (SAA). It is our wish to create a place where alumni of all ages can come together to share their experiences regarding the times they spent at Simeon and Westcott. We hope that this site will keep alumni well informed of upcoming reunions, our sponsored events and explain how each one of us can reach back to lend a helping hand to the youth of our alma mater.

Our Mission: The Simeon Alumni Association’s mission is to promote the overall development of student support systems engaging in proactive campaigns and functional collaborations with school personnel, community organizations for the purpose of creating viable and constructive opportunities which will contribute to the student's scholastic and social achievement.

Our Purpose: The Simeon Alumni Association was created to upgrade and enhance the quality of the academic and social experiences of the students at Neal F. Simeon Career Academy.

Reach Back and Make a Difference

Join a Committee:

Membership Committee
Keeping an accurate database of alumnus. Recruitment of alumnus through membership drives, mass mailings, promoting SAA membership at alumni functions, reunions, etc.

Mentoring/Education Committee
Bringing positive role models and mentors to Simeon students. Providing programs to assist Simeon students in the attainment of their future goals and aspirations.

Scholarship Committee
Reviewing scholarship applicants (interview, assessment and selection of scholarship recipients).

Fundraising Committee
Organizing fundraising events for the Association.

Public Relations Committee
Educating the public and Alumnus of the Association’s fundraising, outreach and mentoring goals through newsletters, web pages, mass media, etc.

Community Projects Committee
Recruiting organizations and non-alumnus in the community that wish to help the Association in its goals of reaching out to Simeon students through donations, hiring, etc.

Become an Active Member

The Simeon Alumni Association depends upon its members and member dues to help fulfill our purposes such as supporting various school activities, awarding scholarships to students, providing mentoring and educational programs and maintaining alumni communication. There are many committees and opportunities for alumni involvement. Membership is governed by our Association Bylaws and all meetings are conducted by Roberts Rule of Order.

There are three levels of membership in the Association:

• Non-Voting Membership: Non-Voting Members are graduates of Simeon (under its current or former names) or those individuals who have completed at least one full academic year at the school who have submitted an Alumnus Registration form or registered online but have never paid membership dues or whose membership dues are not current.
• Voting Membership: Voting Members are monthly, annual or lifetime dues paying members who are graduates of Simeon (under its current or former names) or those individuals who have completed at least one full academic year at the school and have submitted an Alumnus Registration form or registered online.
• Honorary Membership: Honorary Members are individuals who have made significant contributions to the Association or Simeon but did not attend the school.

Membership dues are $10.00 per month or $100 if paid in full by March 1 st of the current SAA fiscal year (Jan 1 — Dec 31). The Lifetime membership dues amount is $1,000.
