THE COMMON GROUND FOUNDATION LAUNCHES: THE CORNER
Attached is news about an exciting website that was launched June 3, 2008, by the famous rapper/actor/poet Common. He is known by many of our students and projects a strong image about the importance of reading and literacy. Please share the attached press release with your interested students.
This year marked the sixth year Simeon has offered Advanced Placement classes. This year we had our highest number of students enroll in AP classes, and take the AP exams. Over the next two weeks over 120 students will take exams, in AP Government and Politics, AP Biology, and AP United States History. Over the past two years Simeon has been one of only ten CPS High Schools to have a student pass an AP Exam. This is a trend that we expect to continue as we add AP classes to our course selection over the next two years.
